Just really enjoyed your Billy Yank or Johnny Reb Civil War Ancestors Presentation at the RootsTech 2017 Anne Mitchell. My Mom’s side of the family have Civil War Ancestors (VanBuskirk). One that served 51st Missouri Infantry 1864-1865 (Rufus VanBuskirk) another Thomas VanBuskirk that served 49th Ohio Volunteer Infantry 1861-1863 that was wounded then died at the Battle of Stones River just to name a dozen other VanBuskirk’s in my Mom’s family tree and I keep finding more that serve in the military as I go.
